Information security relates to the identification and application of security measures to protect classified information, which are being processed, stored and transmitted in communication, information and other electronic systems, against loss of confidentiality, integrity or availability, whether accidental or intentional, and measures to prevent loss of integrity and availability of the systems themselves.
Information security – INFOSEC shall include measures related security within computer systems, the so-called computer security – COMPUSEC (security of hardware, security of firmware and security of software) as well as measures related to security within communication systems, the so called communications security – COMSEC (security of transmission systems – TRANSEC, security of cryptographic methods and devices – CRYPTOSEC, security in case of electromagnetic emanations of electronic devices – EMSEC). The above stated measures shall also include detection, documentation and countering of all forms of threats to classified information as well as to systems handling classified information. |
